While I LOVE Thanksgiving, now that it is over, all things Christmas my friends! Truth be told, all the Christmas joy started before Halloween in our household as we put up our tree. *wink wink* I know, I know.. What about the other holidays, right? I’m that crazy Christmas lady and love everything about it. Hell, I had even switched my scentsy wax cubes long before Thanksgiving.

Black Friday… YEEEESSSS! Give me all the good deals. I have a husband and two babies to shop for, so any discount is the best discount. I decided to wait until Friday morning to go, and STILL got the things that I was eyeballing in the ads. I’m that mom and wife that likes to shop for herself too. My husband works and then when he’s off, I know he just wants to sit at home. But will never tell me that he doesn’t want to go anywhere. He just goes with my flow of what I want to do. He’s a great man, I swear. I hit the lottery with this man. *insert drooling face here* With that being said, I even lucked out and found a kick ass MK purse today for EIGHTY dollars. uhhh, what idiot would pass that up? Merry Christmas, you sexy woman. You deserve it. LOL! We all like to get gifts too, am I right? But my absolute favorite is to GIVE the gifts. I love the shopping and finding the perfect gifts that fit everyone’s personality and knowing that they will love them. As for my kiddos, I know their faces will just light up with pure excitement. It’s the reactions that get me every time. And it’s the quality family time, bundled up in our PJ’s, listening to the Christmas music play, the kids laughing and giggling with their new toys, and it’s the kisses from my husband as we watch our kiddos enjoy the times, too. I am all too excited for Christmas!!!

I hope everyone’s Turkey Day was blessed and full of love. I know mine was. I feel like I shouldn’t be eating for the next month though. AND we still have my in laws Thanksgiving to attend on Sunday. Shit… I’m going to be so damn fat. *face palm* I guess I just better look for a treadmill now for my New Year’s resolution.. Awh, who am I kidding? It’ll just collect our clothes and other crap that doesn’t need to be there, then I’ll bitch about it looking like shit later. -_-

November 11th, 2019…Veteran’s Day…Our first “big snow” of the year with accumulation of 3 inches and wind chills down to zero. yikes! With weather like that, you know damn good and well the first responders are going to be working in overtime. They are all ready prepared to jump out into the weather and safely drive to the station to respond to save a life, a home, and/property. Today, was no different. My husband had already responded to two calls today. Last night was the same way… Just sat down for another family meal then BEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP!! The tones drop, and away he goes… With a half emptied plate, knowing he didn’t get is belly full just yet. As soon as he walks out that door, I can’t help but bow my head and just pray. Pray that he comes home safely to finish his meal. Pray that he comes home for me to wrap up in those warm hugs and soft kisses. Pray that he comes home to still be the very best daddy that he already is.

Being a firefighter’s wife is the most stressful, yet most rewarding kind of wife there is. It’s the skipped family meals. Or the skipped family game night because someone else needed him. It’s the constant trainings that keep him away from home once a week, or on occasion, multiple times a week. It’s the monthly meetings that he benefits from to let him know how his attendance and performance is appreciated and doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s the fundraisers that keep him away from home on some weekends to raise money for the department so they can have nice things too. Reliable equipment to keep them safe. To help pay for mutual aid when not a lot of other firefighters show up. (Thank GOD for mutual aid! So they don’t have to face the chaos alone.)

As you see, it’s just the little things… The little things that mean the most. I know that it gets frustrating. Believe me. Been there, done that. And still continue to do it. Each and every day. And that’s just the beginning. All we can do is support them, love them, and hold onto them when the calls get rough. They need that. And in reality, we do too! All too often, we take material things and people too, for granted. Not understanding that things can be taken away from us faster than we can even begin to imagine. Live Big. Laugh Often. and above all, Love so hard. Harder than you ever have before. Hold onto your loves close, and squeeze them just a little tighter, a little longer. You never know what the future holds.

As you can see, this is my very first blog post. From here on out, you will get just a small glimpse of what goes on in my crazy, beautiful life on a day-to-day basis. I am absolutely blessed with the best life. In my ‘About Me’, you may have gotten that taste of my personality… So, let’s just begin by saying, “Kudos! You made it to my first blog. That means you’re still interested in getting to know me. Let’s become friends.”

First, and foremost, I am a Stay At Home Mommy.. My husband and I tried out the working gig with me a couple times, and each time, it doesn’t work. He doesn’t work your standard office hours. He is a Union HVAC/Pipefitter. With that, comes crazy work hours. He doesn’t leave until the job is done. He can’t just “clock out” at 5 o’clock like the rest of the normal world does. Crappy? Only when the season calls for lots of overtime. (side note- Wives, I know you understand the frustration when I say this. UGH!) But we still love them? Right? Well, we love those paychecks. Wink Wink! Husbands, we really do love you. No, really… We do. Thank you for everything you do for us and our families. We couldn’t be anymore grateful, even though we don’t always show it. You’re the greatest. *kisses*

I’m going to be honest here. I’m new to this whole blogging gig, and I wanted to find me a hobby. I figured someone, somewhere, and somehow, will understand and be just like me. And share my same thoughts, feelings adventures, etc. I’m sure we will connect on some type of level. My thoughts out loud, may be just what you’re trying to express. So, let’s work together.
